Reading Notes

November 22, 2011

After deciding to keep a record of all the books I read I’ve come across Reading Notes which gives you an easy way to remember what you’ve read.  It’s an 80 page note book which has space for the title, author and a short description of each book you’ve read.  It costs £5.99 and you can buy it online but also in some small bookshops across the country.

Book List #1

November 14, 2011

I love reading and have decided to keep a list of all the books I read. (Mainly because I often start reading a book only to realise I’ve read it before!)  I’m going to post a few at a time of the books I’ve read so far this year and when I’ve finished that will just add more when I read more!

Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones
Brilliant book and I love the cover!!!

The White Woman on the Green Bicycle by Monique RoffeyAnother great book!

Room by Emma Donoghue
A bit disturbing but completely unputdownable!

House Rules by Jodi Picoult
This was good but not as good as some other Jodi Picoult books I’ve read.

The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove by Lauren Kate
This was awful, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

Bog Child by Siobhan Dowd
Quite an interesting read.

The Blasphemer by Nigel Farndale
I remember enjoying this at the time but it’s not very memorable.

Tiger Hills by Sarita Mandanna
I loved this – you can read my full review here.

Days To Remember

September 8, 2009

Yesterday I finished reading a book called Days To Remember by Rachel Moore but when my mum asked me the name of the book I honestly couldn’t remember it!  It is a book about the 2nd World War but it’s one of those books where nothing much seems to happen.  I thought it was quite predictable and the blurb on the back kind of told most of the story.  It was an ok book but not one I would think of to recommend to somebody as a good read.

This morning I started reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  It seems a bit strange as it’s narrated by Death but my two sisters loved it so I think I should give it a go!
