Living Nature Nourishing Hand Cream

October 24, 2011

This hand cream from Living Nature is brilliant.  Living Nature is a company from New Zealand who don’t use any harsh chemicals or synthetic materials in their products.  The hand cream has a lovely smell which isn’t too strong – the smell has been formulated alongside a French master perfumer and is inspired by flowers found in New Zealand, especially the Kowhai flower.  It contains active manuka honey which is made in New Zealand and is used to rejuvenate and protect skin.

The hand cream is really moisturising, is quickly absorbed and not too greasy.  Even though it’s really good when you’re hands are very chapped, it is still fine for using on days when you just want to keep your hands feeling soft!  You can buy the Living Nature Nourishing Hand Cream in little 50ml bottles (RRP £10) which are perfect for keeping in your bag but can also get 200ml for £25 which works out more economical.

Nature’s Collection Soap Trio

August 23, 2011

The first thing I noticed about these soaps when I opened the packet was the gorgeous smell.  The pack contains three 70g soaps: Kumerahou & Cinnamon, Manuka Honey & Calendula Petal and Manuka Oil & Clay.  I really like the packaging which is bright, eyecatching and looks much more special than your usual supermarket soaps, which I did expect for the price of £10.72!

I find that the soaps are really moisturising which is brilliant as some soaps I’ve bought in the past have dried my skin out quite a lot.  They lather very well and the smell seems to get even stronger when they are wet which is great.

The set is quite expensive but I think it would make a lovely gift or a special one-off for yourself!  You can buy the Living Nature Nature’s Collection Soap Trio from MyPure.

Living Nature Thickening Mascara

February 18, 2011

I’ve finally got round to trying out my first ever natural mascara – the Living Nature Thickening Mascara.  So far I haven’t really been getting on with it though.  I’m finding it hard to apply without it clumping.  It seems as though if you go anywhere near the same lash twice, all of the neighbouring lashes just clump together.  You have to be really careful to do exactly one coat.

I don’t find it makes my lashes any thicker which is a bit disappointing as I have pretty thin eyelashes.  Having said that, it stays put all day, is easy to remove and looks good if you manage to apply it well so if you need to use natural mascara this is probably a good bet.  I’ll keep practising and will hopefully get better at applying it!

Living Nature Men’s Gentle Cleansing Shaving Gel

February 15, 2011

This month I ordered the Living Nature Gentle Cleansing Shaving Gel from MyPure for my boyfriend Nick. He has very sensitive skin and often complains that shaving hurts his face so when I saw the other extremely positive reviews left on the MyPure website for this product I knew it was worth a try.

The shaving gel comes in a black container which matches the design of the women’s Living Nature products if you like to have matching things in your bathroom! It smells lovely – very fresh and clean (but not girly!). Nick was really impressed with the shaving gel. He was a bit worried that he’d have to use loads of it as he’s used to using shaving foam but a little bit of this gel goes a long way. Apparently it made shaving more comfortable and the real bonus was that it didn’t hurt when he applied aftershave which usually stings so he doesn’t tend to bother. It also left his skin feeling really soft and he didn’t end up with irritated patches of red skin on his face which sometimes happens when he shaves.

The only negative with this shaving gel is the price. At £18.99 it is much more than your average shaving foam. It looks as though it will last longer though and it really seemed to help with Nick’s sensitive skin so I think I would buy it again!

Living Nature Extra Hydrating Toning Gel

February 1, 2011

This month I’ve been trying out the Living Nature Extra Hydrating Toning Gel from MyPure.  I really like the brand Living Nature and the packaging but to be completely honest I wouldn’t buy this again.

The gel is for dry skin and is supposed to “restore vitality to tired and dry skin”. Since starting to use it, I haven’t noticed any change in my skin and also, I really can’t stand the smell!  It smells very pollen like which I think must be the manuka honey.  I think it is quite pricey for a product which doesn’t seem to have that much of an effect at £13.49.

However, the review on the MyPure website by Alison says “Excellent product couldn’t cope without it and is much better since improved smell of it.” So maybe it’s just me who doesn’t really get on with this product?!

Living Nature Gentle Make-Up Remover For Eyes

December 20, 2010

I’m not really sure what to say about the Living Nature Make-Up Remover.  It does what it says it should do and removes eye make-up, (even waterproof mascara!).  I like the bottle which has quite a distinctive shape but there’s not really anything special about the make-up remover itself.  I suppose there’s not really that much that can be different or exciting about make-up remover but that does make them hard to review!  This make-up remover costs £11.50 which I don’t think I would pay because my much cheaper ASDA version does the exact same thing.  However if you do have sensitive skin then this might be a good one to try given that there are no nasty chemicals in it.

The brand Living Nature is a New Zealand company who have been making natural products for over 20 years.  None of their products contain sulphates, parabens or phthalates which can only be a good thing.  I’d like to try some more Living Nature products to see whether they are as good as my current favourite natural brand A’kin.
