Dirty Works Winners

December 10, 2011

Thank you to everyone who entered the Dirty Works giveaway – I wasn’t expecting so many entries!!! The five winners are…..

Congratulations! I’ll give your email addresses to the people at Dirty Works so that they can arrange delivery of your gift sets.

One a separate note, what do you think of my new blog header? I was really bored with the old one so thought I’d try to make my own. I’d love to know whether you like it or not.

Christmas at L’Occitane

December 7, 2011

I love L’Occitane – everyone does right?  I love going into the shop and wandering round trying out the different products and deciding what to buy.  The products tend to be at the higher end of my budget but they are such good quality I can justify buying them occasionally!

L’Occitane have loads of great Christmas presents for both men and women.   At around £8, these new lips balms are cheaper than other products from L‘Occitane but are more than I’d usually spend on lip balm.  They are really moisturising and smell amazing so I think they are worth it, especially at Christmas!

There are also lots of gifts sets like this one…..

….. which are more expensive – this is £46, reduced from £63.40.

This £22 eyeshadow palette looks lovely and would make a nice gift.

Not forgetting the men, there are lots of different shaving products, shower gels and manly smelling eau de toilettes.

Like I said earlier – something for everyone!  Visit the website to find more products.

Melvita Christmas Gift Sets

December 1, 2011

I’ve used Meltiva products a couple of times before and think they are brilliant. At the moment they you can get limited edition beehive gift boxes and wrapping paper for free with your order so that you can make up the perfect Christmas gift set for someone. As you can choose your products, you can pick the exact products you think whoever would like and you can keep it to within your price range. I think this is a great idea as quite often I see gift sets with at least one product that I don’t think will be used.

There is a big range of stuff to choose from, from body lotions and soaps to eau de tolilette and massage oil.  Here is just a selection of what you could buy…..

Beautifully Delicious Gift Sets

December 16, 2010

This summer I tried some Beautifully Delicious products which I loved.   I’ve seen that they have got some gift sets out for Christmas which look fantastic.  You can get the Papaya & Mango set which is just £5 or the Coconut & Shea set which is £8 but contains an extra product – the body butter.  I tried the Papaya & Mango shower gel in the summer and it smelled so good!  Now I’ve had chance to try the Coconut & Shea products I don’t know which I would pick as they both smell absolutely delicious.  The products are brill as well – the bath fizzer isn’t the best one I’ve ever seen but all of the the other things in the set are great.  You can but the gift sets from Sainsbury’s and you can get all of the products and more online.

Decléor Candle Trio

December 5, 2010

You’ve probably heard of Decléor, a company selling skincare products?  When I had the only facial I’ve ever had, the therapist used Decléor products and they were really good.  I didn’t realise that they sold anything other than skincare products but I’ve got this lovely gift set of three scented candles.  The scents are amber, neroli and cedar which are quite unusual.  (Neroli is apparently an essential oil which comes from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree.)  You can burn the candles either separately or together to get a range of different scents.  They come in a dark purple box and the trio of candles are in purple holders, each of which is the perfect size to house a tealight once the original candle is burnt.  The gift set is quite expensive at £21.75 but would make the perfect gift for a candle lover.

Gift Sets from Waitrose

November 12, 2010

The Umi Bath Soak & Candle Gift Set and the Cath Kidston Rose Hand Care Kit are just two of the gift sets available from Waitrose.  There are a number of Umi gift sets; this one costs £5 and contains palm milk & acacia honey bath soak together with a vanilla candle.  There are also a few different Cath Kidston gift sets with some really nice products in them.  The Rose Hand Care Kit has 3 rose scented soaps as well as a rose hand creams and emery board.  I think the gift sets from Waitrose are brilliant – the products are lovely and they are also easy to get hold of!

Dirty Works

November 3, 2010

Dirty Works is a new range exclusive to Sainsbury’s including products like body lotions, lip glosses and body washes.  My first thought on seeing the packaging was that it looked very similar to Soap & Glory although the prices seem to be slightly lower.  Out of the range, my favourite items would have to be the gift sets where the products are presented inside cute little toilet bags which will be useful even after everything else is finished.  The prices are very reasonable but you can see why when you are using the products which aren’t really the most luxurious although they do smell good!

Godminster Vintage

October 4, 2010

Godminster Vintage has been making food gifts for 10 years from its farm in Somerset.  Their range includes organic cheeses, chutneys, fruit cake, vodka and sparkling wine.  I think their products make the perfect Christmas gifts for anyone who loves food.

I’ve got the ‘The Combo’ gift set which has a 400g organic cheddar and a 235g beetroot and apple chutney.  The cheese is inside a purple wax which is a really nice colour and matches the packaging perfectly!  My favourite thing about this gift set is that you can choose between a circle or a heart shaped cheese and you can leave apersonalised message for whoever the lucky recipient is.  And of course, it tastes delicious!  It costs £23 but is definitely worth the money as it makes a different and tasty gift.

I’ve also got the ‘Triple Tipple’ which contains 3 5cl bottles of flavoured vodka.  There are lots of different flavours available from cucumber to horseradish to damson but the flavours you get depend on the season which I really like this as it proves that it’s all fresh.  On the back of the pack are some ideas of how to use the vodka, for example blackcurrant vodka goes well with champagne and cucumber vodka makes a nice cucumber martini.  The set costs £15.66.

I love this website and you can also buy Godminster Vintage products from local delis and cheese shops around the UK.  I’m sure I will be buying some Christmas and birthday gifts from them over the next few years!
